We are extremely lucky to live just minutes from our local beach where over 110 Turtles lay each year. The season is almost finished but there are still a few late hatchings. ❤️

The flood waters are still in the back yard although gradually evaporating. This freshly exposed piece of dirt is actually the tip of a 2.5 metre high spoil from where the previous owner dug a hole in the ground for a dam. Still a lot of water to go!

The aftermath of a Magpie strike on a window.....

Every feather has been detailed, even the moment his/her tail hit overhead !
I can only assume that the image is the result of dust on feathers being dislodged on impact and trapped in a fine, damp layer on the glass.
Pic taken at Pt. Vincent just after dark when the downlight inside were turned on the glass to try & highlight the image.
(Really wish I'd had a proper camera for this shot.....I'll never have the opportunity to capture an image like this again....)
Cheers,
Mark

So this is the actual "image" that was left behind after the Magpie struck?
