While up at the Dubs by the River ,went to lower the pop top and tore a large hole in the canvas.not happy Jane. :got back home n rang around to get quotes but could only find one company that would do it ,to make n fit it is $ 1500 ,every one else I spoke to said not even interested. To hard and not worth the trouble. So can't leave like it is ,so booked it in for the 9th of October. N the have for 4 days .
Not bad suppose ,it lasted 47 yrs..

I would if I lived over there Mark, I would love to do the trip but money is always the issue cost to get there there then accommodation plus cost of doing the work n supply.I thought there would be some one over here that would like to do it ,but no go, those that I did talk to said that $1500 was fairly cheap ,so not sure how they would charge in Victoria. If anyone has had theirs done recently would like to how you paid for it . Hi Chris, You can buy them on line for $650 (not sure of the canvas weight) but that doesn't include the upside down aerobic exercise that's needed to swap them over. Bit technical also about the way you opt to do the canvas wrapped timber on the top rail. Bottom alum rail is easy after the top. Used original upholstery nails (which I did) or use screws (which I did after the pop top sucked up & released all the nails but didn't rip the canvas). It won't come off again ;-) . I've got heavy weight canvas this time. I reckon $1,500 is fair. Ask how they plan to refit the top timber rail? Cheers

If one or more of my vehicles are parked up, not wearing out the roads, and zero risk of injuring a person in another vehicle in an accident, why should I pay rego during that time?

Can't do that in Vic. Need to renew within 3 months or new rego, new plates, and new roadworthy. PR |
