Carburettor re-build recommendations - Sydney area
#1
Hi all, chasing recommendations for someone to rebuild a Solex 34 Pict 3 for my son's "71 Lowlight bus.
My go to mech. is away on a long trip and I need this done as soon as possible.
Would prefer first hand experience if possible.
Any leads greatly appreciated.....
Cheers,
Mark

I was going to suggest Carburettor Service Co on Parramatta Rd Burwood, but they are permanently closed.

I will see what I can come up with as an alternative

If you don't find someone trustworthy in Sydney you could mail it to Recarb in SE Queensland - give them a call first and speak to owner Dave as he tends to get pretty busy.

I used to work for them as their online and front of house sales manager so I know how good they are.

It made a big difference to the drivability of my Kombi - I am very pleased with the result.

What about Andrew?

Yes - I would certainly recommend Andrew (VolksDoktor) in Adelaide.
I guess it depends on how urgent you want the job done
Shipping time to & from Adelaide and Andrew's availability to do the job.
I my case the turnaround  took a couple weeks, but I was not working on any urgent dead line.

Time delay would be the issue there……..he is very busy.
Lots of leads now, thanks everyone, it’s up to Kim now.
Cheers,
