Love Kookies
Such a cool bird.
Then again I can watch most native birds all day.

in Nimbin I had one steal the fish off my plate (and lose half of it on the lap of a woman at the next table). ah, but it's a kookaburra so fair play   Smile

We were down at the headland a Mallacoota in the early 90’s
Had one of our bubs in a chest bib thing and Lea was eating, a rather hot, Mallacoota Bakery Special Pastie. And it was rather hot.

A Kookie swept down for a mouthful, and all it managed to do was knock several chunks of hot pastie between a 6 week old baby and Lea in a light t shirt.

Should have seen Lea do the “f@ck me” dance jumping from foot to foot.
I laughed my arse off.
I also slept on the lounge that night.

I’ve seen them at The Basin,  Kamikaze swoop for sausage sangas as folks try to get them into their mouths before the inevitable Strike Mission succeeds  Big Grin.
Almost as good entertainment as a boat ramp on a Sunday……..

so.... not my pics, but I've always liked how male and female eclectus parrots are both great looking birds but don't look like each other

I didn’t expect an answer, because I spoke in Spaniel, which is understood only by spaniels.

No pic, was laughing too hard..... Tongue
Just watched a juvenile Brush Turkey blown out of a gum tree !!
Wind isn't particularly strong but the bough that the BT had chosen to perch on is particularly smooth.
Ha ha chicken swoops in to re-establish territory, BT turns to face it just as the wind blows while its wings were out.
Unceremonious slide part the way down the branch, realises that it aint gonna get grip and flaps off elsewhere.

Made my coffee taste so much better this morning !!
