Worth ducking in to Ironhouse Point/ White Sands Estate for a few hours if you have an opportunity.
About 30 minutes north of Bicheno, White Sands is open to the public for a wander/taste through their distillery (absolutely awesome gins…..
)and a great place for lunch….not the cheapest meal you’ll ever have, but it’ll be up their with the best !
(….well, it was for us…..
)
Just saw the Tassie weather on the tv….hope you took something warm !
(other than each other……)
Cheers,
Mark

Looks like you are having a great time. We went to Tassie many times and enjoyed it very much. Over time we took 2 kombis down and the last few trips was in our current Sprinter van. One amusing point in time is when we were in Burnie at the tourist information when a couple came in and asked which was the best road to drive to see Tassie. The woman behind the counter asked how much time did they have. The answer was one week. She broke down in a fit of laughter. There is just so much to see in such a small place that one week does not cut it. In all we have probably spent a year or more down there and still I don't think I have explored everything.
Enjoy your trip.

Absofknlutely!
Had a great chat to the fella that took us through the distillery, he was saying that surfers often try to weasel their way into the resort to park…….saves a very long walk !
Looks like an awesome setup….reminded me of the NSW, mid-north coast point breaks
Cheers,
Mark

Well, we are here in Freycinet day tripping about.
Had a decent walk into Wine Glass Bay yesterday
Lucky there was a decent bench to have a sleep on
Went and saw the little penguins last night.
So different to Phillip Island.
The today is my friend’s birthday, so we got up early to greet the morning at Cape Tourville Lighthouse.
It was a balmy 3*C (feels like -2*C with the wind) at 6:12am
Gave us a great view back into Wine Glass Bay

We sat there having some beers that we brought up with us and there were 3 different looks we received
1) really - that’s disgusting
2) I want one
3) see - I told you people take beers up there!

Ha ha haaa, that’s a long way to haul beers !
Walk back would’ve been easier without the load
Beer/water….it all weighs pretty much the same…….

Let me guess:
1. Would’ve been from Lycra clad fitness obsessives….
2. Would’ve been from your average day tripper and
3. Would’ve been from the husband of a Lycra clad fitness obsessed wife….
