Hey Mark,
Yeah loved it. Big site and clean amenities. Short walk to the pub for dinner and as you said a ready made fire place on the site. Peel River was running high and the temperature dropped to -1 on Friday night so a lovely frost on Saturday morning. Yes, Leanne made it back to the Wool Mill a couple of times. Can recommend it for a weekend.

hah........I camped at Monkey Mia in Feb 1982 while hitching.
NO ONE there. Care taker of the campsite and the 2 others in the car.
Cracked a rotor button driving out from Denham.
Took a week to get a new one sent out.
Car was impounded 4hrs later after we left as it was unregistered.
Sold it a week later to the arresting officer as the owner couldn't get it re-registered.

Home Hill, Qld (just south of Bowen). Has to be up there with the best free camp site ever. Clean flush toilets, hot showers, full size camp kitchen and only one street from the main street and pub.
