What made you happy today?

Wasted an hour and a half of my time last week, and $100, to go a GP for a full medical, to retain my Heavy Vehicle Licence. An ACT “Initiative”, for all licence holders of 8 tonne or more, to fill out a 3 page questionnaire, have a GP to test sight, movement, heart, blood pressure, hearing, balance and a urine test.

 Having passed that one, I can now legally still drive Heavy Vehicles……….


Today, I had to do the ACT Rural Fire Service, annual fitness test. 

Another ACT “Initiative”. So after passing that one, I can now legally be in a Rural Fire Service vehicle for this season.

No other state or Territory requires either of these tests. 

Happy that I passed all the requirements………………….Again.

I opted to downgrade my licence to Light Rigid (up to 8 tonne) ...that should be enough for any motorhome I'm likely to drive
