What do those numbers and letters on you tyres mean ?

As a result of a recent discussion on tyres, I thought I'd post these charts that easily explain the speed and load coding on the sidewalls of tyres.
Hopefully it helps folks decide the correct load and speed ratings for their bus tyres....

And as tyres are at their best for the first 5 years, also worth checking when they were made.

Are they brand new ones, or old stock?

The 4 digit DOT code on the tyre tells you. The first two numbers are the week, and the last two are the last two digits of the year of manufacture.

Eg: 3623, is the 36th week of 2023.
