This thing is a Macgyver build with so much dodgy work
Just replaced the rusted out fuel tank with a new one I modified (can't buy the right ones any more), stabilised the steering column (it moved up and down 160mm), fixed the master cylinder filler port leak (someone used a loose plastic t piece with a bolt in one end) and replaced a broken reservoir 
Just waiting on the carby kits, repaired wind screen and it's out of here.

How the hell does this thing get historic rego, or any rego for that matter

It shouldn’t these days, it need to be on classic vehicle registration .
