Love him or ……

Dave Birchall passed away the other day.
Not sure of details but a Club Vee Dub mate has informed me.

Dave was certainly part of the Australian VW scene.

He did so much for the VW scene.

A collector of VW original bits.
A lover of ovals.
Not one that embraced Supers

Very sorry to hear this news.
I only have great memories of Dave going back perhaps at least 45 years.
He certainly had been bitten by the 'Bug' and spent his life demonstrating it with restoration projects.
I will miss our rare, but memory laden talks when we use to catch up at VW events.
Vale Dave. RIP

He has left a big legacy behind in the VW scene, not sure if anyone can step up from the Sydney club and do the job he did, they have some big shoes to fill. RIP in the VW heaven.

Dave was a legend, he loved his Volkswagens and was always willing to help anyone who asked. A lot of years ago he arranged a site for me at the swap meet and ensured that it was accessable and in a good position and always welcomed me and my family to any events that were VW related. We had many good years of friendship and information sharing.
RIP in Volkswagen heaven Dave.
