Where does this belong....?
#1
Hi folks,
Final clean today for my bus before packing and heading off on Saturday......
Found this under the carpet , under the r'n'r bed storage.

Looks like some sort of vent/screen/cover/heat diffuser but I'm buggered if I can work out where it's supposed to go..... Huh

I have a stock Sopru Deluxe fit out with the original Electrolux 3 way fridge, stock gas Stove. and additional 240V hotplate adjacent to the sink.
I've had the fridge out to see if I can find its "home" but drew a blank.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.........

(Could also just be a redundant part from another appliance that fell off a long time ago and the PO chucked it under the bed......)
Cheers,
Mark
It’s not oil, it’s sweat from all the horsepower !

I'm guessing your fridge is an 3way absorption type
might have something to do with the gas heating part for the condensor
How well does it work on gas?

Hey Rick,
Yes, 3 way absorption.
That was my first thought, so I pulled the fridge out and spent ages looking for anywhere that the spring tabs could lock in…….couldn’t find anything.

The fridge works best on gas or 240v, and maintains temperature on 12v while driving if everything is cold…..been reluctant to replace it ‘cause it still works really well.
Thermostat/temp. setting switch doesn’t function very accurately but so far everything stays nice and cold…
Cheers,
Mark

I reckon it was a boot scraper that bolted up under one of the doors to stop dragging the mud inside .... could have been the drivers door or the sliding door area .......

Hi Mark,
No idea but can guarantee you it's not part of a '76 Sopru.

Looks like a fire ash catcher as a guess?

And you've reminded me I need to do a clean out under my back seat. Maybe the frisbees could be redundant now oldest is 30 Wink !

Cheers

I love a mystery… and a frisbee.
Showed Paul this, just out of the blue because I wanted his initial response. He says, maybe a fish smoker?

My guess is a vermin proof vent, of some kind, possibly for a fridge.

Whether a camping fridge, or even Kombi related at all, is unclear……….

Could have just been leftover from a tip run, and didn’t make it to its landfill destination…..Rolleyes

I had a '78 Sopru. Cannot recognise this part. But it was some time ago. Christ! 40 years ago.

I didn’t expect an answer, because I spoke in Spaniel, which is understood only by spaniels.
