Don't worry - there will be more to add to this...
My black beetle needs to go back to the mechanic - the water pump and timing belt were done but the thermostat looks like it should have been replaced too and I still can't drive it .
Now Josie has decided to give a knock from the front end - so Scott tells me after he drove it yesterday. Off to pick up his kombi this morning from the mechanic - lucky I get a fleet discount!
Yes - easy fixes - the sway bar looks original so can't complain really. He is under Spotty now getting ready for the new heavy duty one to be delivered on Monday from JK (fingers crossed).
T3’s have this cowl that covers the steering column.
A small bit on top and a larger one on the bottom that has 2 screws that attach to the top piece.
The bottom piece also has a “clip” that holds onto the steering column.
It’s held onto the cowl by a bit of welded plastic.
This always breaks off and the bottom of the cowl can then flap around, squeak and generally annoy you
So……..I finally got around to what Mr VW should have done in the first place - put a bloody bolt, nut and lock washer.
All nice and tight now

Thought I should go a bit wider, to hopefully achieve a bit less obvious new to old paint join…..so off with the rear bumper, mud flap and tail light, to include the rear panel around to the tail light.
Will throw some 2 pac high build primer at it tomorrow.
