Actually, you can count on one hand the number of EV fires in Australia caused by the battery and/or high voltage circuit.
"From 2010 to June 2023, EV FireSafe recorded 393 verified passenger EV battery fires across the world, of which only four were in Australia. One was linked to arson and the other three vehicles were parked in structures that burned down.
As for the two fires in September 2023, one was caused by a damaged EV battery that had been removed from the vehicle. The other vehicle that caught fire also had a damaged battery, having been pierced by a large piece of road debris after the vehicle was struck at high speed by the tailshaft of a truck."
