I wonder how many rebuilds leave this bracket off
Easy done, new cooler, bolt it on.
You have to take the bracket off the old one and the new cooler needs modification for it to fit.
Without it (it steadies the cooler) oil leaks will happen
I'm now waiting on some bits from the states
Rubber bits and thermostat and associated bits.
In the mean time I fitted new Weber manifolds
The CB manifold and linkage kit is over $700au and if you think you can just fit every thing out of the box you might want to look at the pics.
the transition from the manifold to the head is rubbish. The gaskets don't line up and hang into the port.
You can't get a nut and washer onto either outside studs let alone a spanner or socket. There are no outlets for vacuum brakes.
So out with a high speed bur to true up the ports to the head and clearence the sides of the manifold. A grinder to flatten the area where the washer and nut sits and a razor blade modifies the gaskets. Then it is out with the TIG to weld some bosses on he runners for spigots. I take vacuum from all 4 runners and connect to a manifold on the firewall before sending it to the booster via the one way valve.
