Vintage Speed Exhaust

Does anyone run a VS exhaust on a type 1 motor with heat risers. 

I was always of the impression that the VS had “proper plumbed” heat risers as in a high and low pressure take offs. 

Been told that this ain’t true

they mention its got a hi and lo pressure side as an option

Seen the site Rick - but it is not clear if it has a “high & low” pressure take offs like stock. 

I have also found this site

And it shows this picture 

   

And they look like 2 high points to me. 

When I had my beetles I’m sure I was told / read that VS had the same set up as stock. 

Seems stock is the only exhaust that does it correctly

I see your point but I can see what they tried to do.
face the 4 side away to get some venturi action on the low pressure side.
Also when 2 is exhausting, nothing is coming out of 4 exhaust
Weather that works  is unknown but maybe VS did some tests
I also think they might have mixed the low and high pressure sides up. I thought the low pressure side in the STD exhaust was cyl 2 side

Have been looking for photos of the flange configuration of an original  stock standard VW muffler - not found one yet.

You can see the pipe from the #4 side going into the muffler
