Our house fronts onto the Murray flood lagoon, up past the caravan park towards Purnong for those that know the area.
When I built this jetty, the next leg along from the missing plank was the shore line.

These size rocks make up a wall across where the shore line was at the 2 bits of dead tree sticking out of the water

This was the level on Sunday.

The forecast is the water will be over the top of the pile of rocks and crossing the road by the first week in December

Wednesday they have been building very high gravel and dirt walls with what looked like plastic traffic barricades stacked one on top of the other and plastic over them, then buried in the middle. Hopefully they build it high enough, there is no way they will be able to build it higher once the flood waters reach there.

The water is already flowing over the top of the lock at Blanchetown and that is the last line of defence regarding holding the water back ...... The next step up in the river levels is still at Wentworth and they are borderline major flood conditions now.

The powers that be are suggesting Mannum will see the next flood peak in a week, then another rise 2 to 3 weeks later, just in time for Christmas, then possibly yet another rise early January and then that all could change if Western Qld, Western NSW and/or Western Vic get more rain ....

At the moment the wind is blowing down stream, so the level has actually dropped about 0.5 mtr .... but that will be rather short term.

Saw video today of the Mannum ferry surfing across in the waves. Looked like a way to get sea sick!. The River is lapping the mogue at Morgan.
