Yes definitely heavier, even more than a 2L air cooled!! It would be interesting where the additional weight is compared to a type 4 motor, it's more than just additional weight for the water jacket. I'd guess it's a combination of everything being a little heavier.

I should have added both are with oil and remains of coolant in there. This weight includes the AFM (missing from previous photo) which adds a bit also
Grant, does that make a Syncro even better? With the diff and front suspension, I think they are better balanced than a 2WD
