We have had a great time looking about the North Island, but only one Bay in a museum! For the amount of people in our crew (5) the camper, even with the extra diesel tax and expensive caravan parks, was a no brainer compared with 2 rooms and a car with enough capacity for us and luggage. We had 8 to begin with for the week of the wedding so a 12 seater bus and 2 cabins was much cheaper than every other option, but the second week lugging baggage to different places each night wasn’t practical.
Got to say for such a big vehicle they are quite enjoyable to drive. Bit big for an every day drive and hopeless in a city but country driving at kombi speed is quite ok.
I haven’t got a lot of internet capacity atm so pics will have to wait a few more days.
