Your correct as long as the earth side has no issues . As a roadside assistance technician you would be amazed at the amount of issues that are caused by “ bad earth “ . This can easily be checked by multimeter simply place one lead of your meter to the negative battery terminal and the other to the block or starter motor body , then switch meter to DC voltage and have someone crank engine the meter should not read more than 0.1 volts . More than .5 of a volt is an issue and gets worse the higher it gets . Hope this helps . It is always hard to diagnose a hard to start problem from another State .When You say hard to start . Does it crank meaning the motor turning over or when you turn the key nothing happens “ meaning no noise at all” Good luck Trevor
