A complete new body
#11
Apparently you can get a body number from the police and register it as a kit car on club registration, or maybe even Historic plates as a replica or tribute vehicle, this gets around the requirement to meet ADR's newer than the model the tribute or replica year model, it would be a Grandfather's axe type affair, not really a brand new vehicle, a lot of the running gear and body work would be period correct even if it was new ...... Meeting the electrical engineering requirements and certificate is only related to the addition of the battery pack, motor and equipment mounting safety and passing any current leak detection to the body ..... Once a certificate saying the vehicle complies with a recent engineering requirement would be a big step towards getting through all the other barriers they like to throw up ...... still a tad out of my pocket money range though, just getting the money together for Kombi's resto seems to be out of my range lately .....
