Heater flap - Barry - 03-09-2023

Any ideas.
Obviously a heater flap for passengers, but what holds it open?

I have the metal duct that is held in place by the middle seat in my 1977 bus. Directs the warm air onto feet of rear seat passengers. Will try and upload pic if ur interested?

That's correct, a duct sits in the hold held in place with middle seat bolts.

As most people are not aware of them, or would recognise one, I'd say many were tossed out without realising what they were.
I have one in my '77, and rarely see them on vans at VW shows.
