Handbrake Handle Removal - kombiPOP - 15-11-2022 Hi kombi lovers ive been trying to replace my handbrake handle and can not get the pin out, im not sure theres a pin in it, does th handle screw on, could it be glued, does anyone have a pic with the pin in, its realy starting to do my head in not being able to get it out Cliff RE: Handbrake Handle Removal - Tintop - 15-11-2022 yep, there's a roll pin in there ... make sure you support it well and then 'tap' it out https://www.smallparts.com.au/technical/pins/roll/?v=4427 RE: Handbrake Handle Removal - Doob - 15-11-2022 Here is a link to Heritage Parts exploded view of the hand brake lever assembly showing the pin in the handle. https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/au/n0133491-pin-for-handbrake-t-handle.html As indicated by Tintop - the pin should tap out. I replaced my very perished handle a couple of years ago. After 50 years it was gummed up badly, and the pin was hard to remove. In the end I pulled the lever out and removed the pin & handle on the workbench RE: Handbrake Handle Removal - Vernie.the.vw - 22-11-2022 Echo above. I just removed mine and really, really, really had to bash it hard to get it out. I used a nail at first, and then an old drill bit. I used a block of wood and the steering wheel security club to support the handle, as I had to bash it hard. You might think you are hitting it too hard--trust me, you are not. I reattached the new one with a zip tie, and I may or may not get another pin. She was pretty ignorant to get out! Good luck!! |
