New to the forum and paint code question - Kombinewbee - 06-05-2024 Hi all. As an intro, I am brand new to the world of the Kombi. Was looking for a project and found a 62 Kombi that needs a little bit of love. Already a bit stuck, paint code (South African build) is C/- (see picture attached) cannot find this paint code or reference to it anywhere - would appreciate any ideas. I look forward to the journey. RE: New to the forum and paint code question - Oldman - 06-05-2024 Welcome to KCA ! You're in for a roller coaster ride as a new kombi owner.......many great times ahead as well as challenging times. I'm not familiar with the early buses and their details but many on here are, hopefully they'll chime in. Many kombis have had their original colours changed and it's not unusual to have paint codes on plates that do not resemble the current colour. Ask as many questions as you like....preferably in the appropriate Splitty section. https://kombiclubaustralia.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=7 Every challenge you'll face has been dealt with before by someone here. Enjoy the ride RE: New to the forum and paint code question - Barry - 06-05-2024 G'day and welcome Maybe have a read here https://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopic.php?t=25279 and https://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopic.php?t=33555 They say "C was light green" RE: New to the forum and paint code question - DavidH - 06-05-2024 Welcome Kombinewbee to KCA. Enjoy the ride. Cheers RE: New to the forum and paint code question - Grantus - 06-05-2024 Very nice! As Mark said, every chance that the paint colour has been changed from the original plated code, sometime over the years. Welcome to Kombi Club Australia! RE: New to the forum and paint code question - grumble - 10-05-2024 Most of the panelshops have a tool that breaks the colour into tinters used and can match the colour even if it isn't a factory colour. |
