Here's an overview of my son's '71 set-up :

Top seat clip retainer:

Bottom clips :

Bolted clip on walk-through side of passenger base:

Factory spot-welded clip on passenger door side of base

Distance measured from bulkhead to back of steel square at back of base clips :
(Steel square blade = 51mm wide, so total distance from face of bulkhead to back of base clip = 105mm +51mm = 156 mm

Set-out for measurement :

Hope that helps......

Is 72 the cross over year?

Yeah, mine's a crossover, but I was lucky enough to have some remains of the original seat runners still on the driver's wheel tub....enough for me to get a bit of an idea of how they were, though I did have to heavily modify the new wheel tub I fitted as the later model was the only one available.

That's excellent info. Thanks heaps for that. It also answers my confusion as to why there only appears to be bolt holes for the right hand bracket, whereas the left looks like it was hacked off with an oxy. The new ones I've ordered are both bolt mounted but that's OK as it gives me a little leeway with the measurements. Awesome. Many thanks for that,
